Dog. To many that means a fluffy, fun household pet. But to me, I've learned that dog actually stands for something greater....Depend on God. Dog.
Praise God that i know that apart from Christ I am nothing. That I must come to Him as a beggar, pleading for daily portion. For my daily bread.
I pray that I may know this dependence in my heart insomuch as to truly believe that I cannot function apart from Him.
And that is the truth...I cannot function apart from Him. I am dependent on Him. And that is a glorious and freeing thing, to depend on the Creator of the universe.
“Ever plan for yourself in simple dependence on God. It is nothing less than self-idolatry to conceive that we can carry on even the ordinary matters of the day without His counsel. He loves to be consulted. Consider no circumstance too clear to need his direction. In all thy ways, small as well as great; in all thy concerns, personal or relative; temporal or eternal, let Him be supreme. Who of us has not found the unspeakable ‘peace’ of bringing God matters to minute or individual to be entrusted to the most confidential ear?” - Charles Bridges
