Do I believe, put faith, and live in my name, Mallory, or do I believe, put faith, and live in the name of Someone else?
Do I believe in His name?...
A Man lived in our world. His birth, life, and death are recorded in history.
He lived like you and me...He pooped and peed, ate and drank, laughed and cried. Yet, He never sinned. Never ever. He was and is perfectly obedient to God. He has a perfect relationship with God. He claimed to be the Son of God, sent from the Father in heaven.
He said that He was God in human form. God incarnate. God in the flesh.
He claimed to be the Savior. He said that those who believe in his name shall not perish but will have eternal life. Life forever and ever.
His name is JESUS CHRIST. He says "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even tho he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26.
This JESUS CHRIST claims He is King, Savior, Messiah. Born to save us from death and deliver us to life in Him.
We need Him. For everyone has sinned and fallen short of the perfection of God. And the end result and due penalty of this sin is death. That is what we deserve for sin. Death.
But Jesus died on a cross in order to satisfy the justice of God. He died. To save us from this just sentence of death that we deserve because of our sin nature. He was the only Person who could be the perfect sacrifice to appease the wrath and death sentence of a holy and Soverign God.
He shed His blood so that upon believing in His name we may have life in Him. He delivers us to life in Him, in His name.
"By this gospel you are saved...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, [and] that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..." 1Cor.15.
